In November of 2024, my teacher's teacher and the holder of the Ashtanga Yoga lineage passed away very unexpectedly. We held a memorial at our Shala and everyone (everyone) brought flowers. Especially lilies. The entire space was full of beauty, fragrance, and tender heartedness. I plucked and saved one of the lily flowers and pressed it in my flower press. Later in the year, I layered it on top of paper to create an image translated with blue ink in my Risograph. I love that it looks like a lotus! Then, I added another printed layer of a gold circle.
